Great Guest Experiences…

We at RedTail Mountain® Resort strive to ensure every guest enjoys a world-class resort experience. We want RedTail Mountain to be your “home away from home.” We want you to feel welcome, to feel like a part of our RedTail Mountain family, and we want you to come visit us often.

We recently received a 2016 Guest Review Award from With a 9.5 rating out of a possible 10, we must be doing something right. Although we do have that half point to go to achieve a perfect 10 rating. To quote Maxwell Smart, we “missed it by that much!”

We are very excited about 2017, and we hope to see many returning guests as well as new guests this year. While we have been closed for winter, we have been working very hard to prepare for a great year ahead – preparing to ensure you, our guests, will enjoy the mountain retreat of a lifetime.

Our Lodge at RedTail Mountain and Vistas Land & Sea Grille are scheduled to re-open on February 03, so you don’t have to wait for golf season to get away from the rat race. Great guest experiences happen here. Come stay with us…

Change of Plans

We began the month of November experimenting with the idea of keeping our recently aerated valley holes (5 through 13) open through Thanksgiving. The purpose of any experiment is to learn from it, and we have learned rather quickly that it is not feasible to continue to operate our golf course this fall. Therefore, this Saturday, November 12, will be our last day for 2016.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every golfer who has blessed us with their business this year. Your support of RedTail Mountain does not go unnoticed; we are truly grateful. We look forward to seeing you on our beautiful golf course in the spring of 2017!

To Everything, There Is A Season

As we at RedTail Mountain reflect on the past year, we are forever grateful for all our guests who have graced us with their business. We appreciate each and every lodge, restaurant, and golf patron more than any words can express. So we offer each of you a simple, “thank you.”

As we wind down our golf season, we are operating with holes 5 through 13 open (our valley holes) through Thanksgiving. Our scenic mountain holes have been closed for the winter as our nights are too cold now to avoid long-lasting morning frost on those greens. We do require advance tee times to ensure we have staff available to assist any golfers who still wish to play golf. To schedule your tee time please call our pro shop at 423-727-7600, extension 2, or book online at – our first daily tee time is 10:00 a.m. and our last is 3:00. Anyone wishing to play our 9 valley holes twice should start no later than 12:00 as all carts need to be returned by 4:30.

Our new fall and winter restaurant hours are Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:00 to 8:30 (last seating), and our ever-popular Sunday brunch is from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. As always, reservations are recommended. Please call 423-727-7600, extension 4 to reserve seating.

  • Please note that our restaurant will be closed during the month of January.

“for a weekend, for a lifetime”

Sam Adams, a man who cannot have enough genuine, positive things said about him.

35 years ago, Mr. Adams turned the first shovel on RedTail Mountain (then known as Roan Valley), and has been faithful and responsible to it’s progression and improvement since, always willing and ready to help everyone. He is well known for being the first southpaw to win on the PGA Tour, however this is not what makes him iconic. With the heart of a servant, personality one can’t help but like, and a tremendous amount of loyalty, Mr. Adams is not only an icon to the golf world, but to everyone.

We just recently introduced you to our new residents Theun and April. Well, now we would like to introduce two other new residents, Marije and Verra. This past weekend, Marije gave birth to this beautiful female foal. So we would like to say, welcome to the RedTail family Vera; we are glad you made it safely here and look forward to the many years you will spend here at RedTail Mountain.

Part of the Family

RedTail Mountain would like to introduce our two newest residents, Theun and April. Young, vibrant, and beautiful, our newest residents are always full of energy and want to be on the move. Just like the wild life that call this place home, Theun and April love it here, and will be staying for many years to come. I mean, what horse wouldn’t want to wake up to beautiful mountain views and a wide open paddock everyday?

RedTail Mountain Residents Cookout

RedTail Mountain will be hosting a cookout for all residents and property owners on Monday, May 23rd at 5:30 p.m. The cookout will be located on the upper deck of the Clubhouse and will be served “cookout style” by our very own Vista’s Land and Sea at cost of $10 per person. So come out, enjoy the sun, have some fun with family and friends, all while enjoying a delicious meal with an extraordinary view.

We ask you to please RSVP no later than Wednesday,
May 18th with Roger and Daisey Maxey at 336-692-5073.

Sunday Brunch

High Season has come for RedTail Mountain, and our Sunday Brunch has become increasingly popular. We are ecstatic to meet and greet so many new faces, and encourage everyone to join us every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. To ensure you have the best dining experience possible, we request all who are willing and able to make reservations. We thank everyone in advance for your support, and for choosing Vista’s Land and Sea.
